Programs - Artology Summer Performing Arts Camp

Artology Summer '08 Performing Arts Camp took place at Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church, Perrine and offered a seven week introduction to the performing arts. Over seventy five youth learned story-telling through African drumming, dance, drama, set design, and costuming.

Students received instruction three mornings each week culminating in the final performance "Let My People Go" on July 31.. Students told the story of Moses leading the Israelites out of Egypt.

Our team of teaching artists included:

  • Dance: Michelle Murray
  • Drumming: Madafo Lloyd Wilson
  • Drama: Arnold Veira
  • Set Design: Daniel Perez
  • Costume: Courtney Harris
Everyone agreed that ARTOLOGY 2008 was a big success and plans are underway for ARTOLOGY '09 next summer!
